About Fiona

I studied at Aberdeen University for an MA (Honours) in Economic History/Sociology, graduating in 1997. I then attended Robert Gordon University to complete a 2 year Diploma in Social Work and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Social Studies. I worked as a Social Worker/Mental Health Officer for over 20 years in various Community Mental Health Teams in Scotland and also as a Mental Health Practitioner with the NHS in Lancashire, before returning to live on the beautiful Moray Coast. I loved my jobs and felt passionate about supporting people to improve their mental health.

My interest in hypnotherapy began when I experienced it as a client myself. I loved the level of relaxation and was impressed that my ability to cope with stress improved considerably. I have always been interested in neuroscience, so when I felt the desire for a career change, the two things came together when I found Clifton Hypnotherapy Practice Training School (CPHT) and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I really like the fact that it is supported by science and empirical evidence and has shown very positive results for various issues that can be difficult to resolve.

I am a member of both the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH).

I studied at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training school. The school was founded over 20 years ago by David Newton in Bristol and they now have 30 schools throughout the UK. I  studied  for a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy at the Glasgow CPHT and I graduated in December 2023.

I have professional insurance with Holistic Insurance Services. I have a membership with Disclosure Scotland under the PVG Scheme [Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007]

I adhere to the codes of practice of the AFSFH and the NCH
